Practice areas:
I joined Pusatier, Abbott, Sugarman & Martin, LLP in 1978 as a law student and established my career with the firm. In 1988, I was made a partner with a focus on Social Security Disability, business law and criminal defense.
I serve every client with a relentless pursuit of justice. As one example, in 1981, I defended the wrongfully convicted J.L Ivey on murder charges. Due to my work, Ivey was acquitted after serving five years in Attica. He then sued the state of New York for unjust imprisonment and won $750,000 in damages.
I graduated in 1976 from the University of Buffalo magna cum laude and the University of Buffalo Law School in 1980. I have been active in Kiwanis since I became a lawyer and was voted the North Buffalo Kiwanis Man of the Year in 1986.
In 2001, I was voted as the best lawyer in Kenmore, NY. I am currently a member of the Erie County Bar Association (ECBA), the ECBA's negligence and disability committees and the Western New York Trial Lawyers' Association. I am a frequent and sought-after speaker to attorneys and the public on the topic of Social Security Disability.
In college, I played tennis for the University of Buffalo and was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997. I am still an avid tennis player and a seven-time MUNY doubles champion.
