I went to Mr. Sugarman on the advice of a friend with the understanding that I may be able to save a bundle through mediation rather than litigation. I was very reluctant, and also knew that there was no chance my soon to be ex-wife would give it a shot given that we could not agree on ANYTHING. After some arm twisting, we made an appointment with Mr. Sugarman. After the first appointment, I was on board, but my now ex-wife was hesitant. We nonetheless scheduled another appointment, and from that point, there was no looking back. Mr. Sugarman is truly a miracle worker. His grasp of the law, ability to listen, and ability to pinpoint where/why our disagreements existed was extraordinary. He was able to untie stalemate after stalemate and was able to put everything into perspective for us. If one suggestion wasn't sufficient for one of us, another one eventually would be. Some elements of the separation agreement took longer to iron out than others (things that I thought would be impossible to ever come to terms on), but Mr. Sugarman some how, some way, eventually was able to come up with acceptable terms to both parties. I KNOW that this would not have been possible in a litigation setting and I KNOW that there would be a tremendous amount of animosity between ex-wife and me. Instead, I have an amicable relationship with my ex-wife, neither of us feels cheated, and because of Mr. Sugarman, our daughter, is now accustomed to a much healthier environment than she would have been otherwise. It important to realize that the children are the most important thing in these unfortunate scenarios, and it is the children that suffer, a constant focal point for Mr. Sugarman. Mr. Sugarman's staff is extremely responsive and organized. We were always provided with memos, and a working draft of the separation agreement after each appointment and given time to reflect. I can't thank Mr. Sugarman enough. He was fair, worked miracles, and his rates were far beyond reasonable. Thank you again.
